Nicole Ari Parker, an American actor, who has appeared on film and television as well as on stage is best known for her role as Teri Joseph, a flamboyant lawyer in the show Showtime's Soul Food. Following her marriage the actress is now known by the name Nikki Kodjoe. As a child, she was a natural actor. At a Maryland competition for high school students she was awarded the prize for Best Actress. Following her time in the theater as well as 'The Washington Ballet Company' she received a master's certificate in acting from New York University. The first role she played on screen in The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love fetched her immense admiration. Then came movies like 'Boogie Nights Spark & Blue Streak. Soul Food, her TV show, was widely praised due to her performance. In addition, she has appeared on TV programs like Second Time Around" and Empire. In the beginning of her career, she appeared in numerous stage productions. Parker is married to Boris Kodjoe, an actor and model. They have two daughters.
Contractor is a Mumbai-born Indian and who was a resident of Nigeria since she was just seven years old. She had a lot of knowledge about world cultures and traveling in such a short time. She attended boarding schools between the ages between 7 and 9 years old in London. After that the family relocated to Toronto (Canada) where they spent her entire childhood. Contractor studied classical ballet in Toronto. She also excelled academically. The Etobicoke School of the Arts (a public school for high schools that is specialized in arts), Contractor studied both ballet and theater. At the age of 16, after nearly 10 years of dancing, Contractor discovered she was looking to study acting professionally. After she completed high school, she was offered a full scholarship for tuition to University of Toronto where she was a theatre student with a dual degrees in Sociology and Psychology. Contractor auditioned at the prestigious Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Ontario, Canada, for Pericles. After a full year, she was awarded the role of lead. The show she played in 92 performances received acclaim from Canadian critics. The actor was invited to take part in the conservatory, where a select eight men and four females are selected for a 20-week crash course in classical theatre, which she was eager to take. Contractor's participation in the next play-season was confirmed and she received the role in Hermia from A Midsummer Night's Dream.
